Biography

Rosena is a highly qualified and dedicated sports physiotherapist hailing from the UK. She began her professional journey as a physiotherapist in 1994, after initially working in sports coaching and acquiring qualifications in Weightlifting, Badminton, Volleyball, and Tennis instruction. Rosena’s diverse background in sports coaching provides her with a unique perspective and understanding of the demands and challenges faced by athletes.

Throughout her career, Rosena has gained invaluable experience working with various renowned institutions. She has worked with the NHS, the British Army, and the HMP Prison Service in the UK before transitioning to private practice. In 1997, Rosena established her own private practice in London and went on to achieve a Masters’s degree in Sports Injury and Therapy in 2000.

Rosena’s passion for sports physiotherapy led her to work extensively with elite athletes. She has served as an official physiotherapist for prestigious sporting events, including the Paralympic Games in Sydney 2000, where she worked with UK Athletics. Additionally, Rosena has worked with the LIRFC U19 (London Irish Rugby Football Club) and the England Volleyball Team. Her experience in elite sports has honed her expertise in managing acute and chronic sports-related injuries.

Recognizing the importance of addressing chronic back pain, Rosena underwent specialized training under Sarah Key in 2007. This training has significantly influenced her approach to managing chronic back issues, emphasizing conservative and non-surgical treatment strategies. As a result, Rosena is adept at identifying the underlying causes of back pain and providing long-term solutions.

Rosena’s journey eventually led her to Singapore in 2013, where she worked at Changi General Hospital as a Senior Principal Physiotherapist and Clinical Lead in the sports medicine department. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she played a pivotal role in expanding the shockwave and weight management services and overseeing the training and education of physiotherapists and exercise physiologists. Prior to joining our team, Rosena worked at PhysioActive in Singapore’s CBD, helping individuals overcome neck and back pain caused by sedentary work lifestyles and enabling recreational sports enthusiasts to return to their activities pain-free.

In 2021, Rosena made her way to Hong Kong. Her expertise and dedication are now available to the people of Hong Kong at our clinic here at Posture Plus!

Rosena has always loved sport and working with motivated patients young and old. She believes that the key to unlocking pain is to identify the underlying problem rather, rather than treating the symptoms, which generally gives only short term relief. Rosena likes to get to the root of a problem wherever possible.

Passion, Persistence, and Personal Achievements

Rosena’s love for sports and her commitment to helping motivated patients of all ages are the driving forces behind her success as a physiotherapist. She firmly believes in identifying and addressing the root causes of pain, rather than merely treating the symptoms, to provide long-lasting relief.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Rosena has an impressive personal history in sports. As an elite rower, adult ice figure skater, field hockey player, and club-level tennis player, she understands the physical demands and challenges that athletes face. More recently, Rosena completed her first triathlon and even participated in the 2018 Singapore marathon. Currently, her goal is to improve her golf handicap, enjoy indoor cycling (“zwifting”) during the hot weather, and explore the hiking trails during the cooler weather.
